Just a bunch of pictures!

I love days like today.
I woke up to Lexi laying next to me in bed with a HUGE grin on her face.
:) I reached over and gave her a kiss and she then started giggling so loud...
I love this littly girly!
We ate breakfast together and then played on the family room floor.
I watched her giggle and roll all over the place.

It was the perfect morning.

We finally decided to get ready for the day around 11:30...
After her bath I snapped these few pictures of my little princess.

I love her little personality :)
She is so fun to hang out with each day.
I am one lucky mommy!

Her binky is one of her favorite toys these days...so in most of these pics she is playing with the bink!

I think she is a little animated too...what do you think? haha

Thanks for the fun morning baby girl.
Mommy loves you!

Naked baby!

I am on a roll with blogging today... 2 posts in a row!
Awesome :)

.......................
I just gave Lexi a bath.

While taking a bath she has become obsessed with grabbing one of her wet wash clothes
and sucking all of the water out of it.
Kind of gross right?

If I even try to take it away from her she gets the saddest face and starts to cry.
Is my child the only one who likes sucking the water out of wash clothes? haha

I got her out to dry her up and she would not let go of the wash cloth.
She was sucking it so hard I was pretty impressed.
She had a death grip on the darn thing!
She was acting so darn funny I had to snap a few pictures.

Nothing is cuter than a clean naked baby :)

I tried to take away the wash cloth so we could get lotion and Jammie's on...
this is what happened.

She is definitely a GIRL. She knows how to throw a fit with the most dramatic attitude!

I hand it right back to her and this is what you get...
the little stinker shoves it right back into her mouth and starts to giggle!

So I let her...
who couldn't love those eyes and that face?

She is spoiled...and silly.
We love her!

7 Months!

How can 7 months go by so fast??
I blinked my eyes and now my child is HUGE.
I swear just last week I brought her home from the hospital.

People were not kidding about how fast time goes. I need to be better at cherishing each moment...
because before I know it she will be moving out of the house and I will be....well devastated!

I guess I have a little bit of time before that happens but...she really is just growing right up!
I love this little babe to death. She is getting so fun!
Her littler personality is shinning! :)
She makes us laugh all of the time and keeps us wondering what on earth her little brain is thinking.

Like in this first picture...
haha I love this little face!

Alexis at 7 months old!

*My little rolling pin! You roll all around the room...I can't even change your diaper without you rolling right over.
*You LOVE to talk...and scream :) all happy noise though!
*Huge GRIN!
*Smiles at everyone you meet.
*You love any of your soft blankets and rub your little face on them when you are tired.
*You eat sweet potatoes, pears, and squash!
*Love mommy  and daddy.
*Can say dada and blow raspberries!
*Loves to play with toys and your baby doll.
*You open your mouth SO big when you want another bite of baby food. (I love it!)
*Sleep all night in your crib
*Laughs when mommy tickles your neck and legs.

We love you so much baby girl! Can't believe you are so big!

 Happy 7 months!

14 pounds!

Hooray she did it!

Alexis finally made it to 14 pounds :)
I know this might sound a little weird...but we have been wanting this little peanut to GROW!
Her doctor wanted her to put on some weight.
Because well...she was a little runt!
She has always been very small but I think that is just who she is.
Everyone comes in different sizes and shapes...and well she came in TINY size!

Nothing is wrong with being small...right?!
It's good she is starting to grow though.
Now she is no longer in the malnourished category.
(not that she ever was malnourished) :)
And well she finally made it back on the charts....5% for weight!
Good job baby girl!

We are glad :)

I knew she must be getting bigger because her car seat is getting heavy!
My arm is not use to carrying my little chubby girly around.

Look at my cute little peanut!
(she will be 7 months on the 25th...how did this happen?)

I am pretty sure her eyes and smile gets bigger every day.
We are in LOVE.
:)

Digital Scrapbooking!

I have wanted to digital scrapbook for years but never had the money to get into it.
My sister is amazing at it and let me borrow one of her programs to download so I could finally start!
Now that I have started I am hooked! I can't stop...
I have done 15 pages within the last 2 days!

My mom made me a baby book with pictures and special items.
I love having something to look back on.
I thought I would start with making a baby book for Alexis.
It is so hard to pick pictures....the 15 pages I have created are all from the hospital when she was born...
I might need to down size a bit! I have so much to catch up on!

These are just a few of the pages I have made so far...

(I am still trying to figure it all out...but I am having lots of fun with it!)

I will have to post more as I continue to learn.

(I can't believe how tiny my baby was...so glad I have pictures to look back on!)

who does my child look like??

Those who know both me and my husband always tell me that Lexi looks a lot like Nate.
I was going through some of our baby pics and found a few expressions that Nate and I both use to make that look like Lex...

So let's see....who does she look like???

Kayla                           Nate

(I can't figure out how to put her pics next to each other)

But I am pretty sure me and Lex had the same smile.
Nate gave her that curly little lock on top of her head....as you can see I had nothin!
I think her little nose is pretty good mix....and her lips look like her daddy's.
What do you guys think??

Happy NEW YEARS and the month of January! :)

Goodbye 2011...WELCOME 2012!
Happy NEW YEAR everyone!

We are excited about the new year.
We are ready to start fresh and accomplish some major goals...and this year we are going to stick to it ;)
We are going to be healthier, happier and better people!

Enjoying life more and spending more time together  as a family is our number one goal :)
We have some fun family plans this coming year and we are excited to see what life has in store!
...taking a little vacation is hopefully on the list!

Of course Nate and I both want to get healthier and more in shape...so we started the morning off with running a mile :) I told myself I will run 2 more before my head hits my pillow tonight!

We are being a little ambitious on goal setting... but Nate and I are planning on doing our very first half marathon this coming June. We are starting the training process and hopefully we can work our way up within the next six months...wish us luck!

Staying motivated seems to be the hardest challenge, but we are feeling good and ready to work hard!

We started a New Year's tradition with my mom's side of the family a few years back.
We go tubing at Soldier Hollow and then have a party at my aunt Lana's house.

I was excited to participate in the tubing this year (last year I couldn't because I was pregnant)
Nate and I decided to hang on to each others tubes while going down on our stomach...
haha we ended up flying down backwards the whole way and catching some air over the jumps.
We haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time, it was great fun!

Tubing at Soldier Hollow :)

THANK YOU Kristin who held Alexis the whole time while we went tubing. We really appreciate it!

After tubing we hit up the Dairy Keen in Heber for some lunch :) Then on to my aunt's house for a big celebration! We played TONZ of games...ate WAY too much and celebrated until midnight!

Alexis did surprisingly well. She stayed happy and content most of the night. Cousin Jaxson and all of her aunts and uncles loved on her constantly :) I think she got a few thousand kisses.
She is so sweet. We will keep her :)
Happy New Year!

This is one of my favorite pictures :)
It is a rare occasion to have my dad smile for a picture so I feel very lucky haha

The party was great. We got to visit, play games and hang out with family.
I love family parties!

We are ready for 2012 :)

January is a BIG month for us! Nate is accomplishing A LOT for medical school!
Nate is still working hard at filling out secondary applications, writing essays, taking the MCAT, and working his little tale off trying to get into medical school. He has been polishing up those applications the best he can... so now we are waiting to see what happens :)

He is working SO HARD for our little family and I have all the faith in him that he will get in!
We are looking forward to where this little journey takes us.
Our main goal is to stay positive and do the best we can in all area's.
If we continue to do those two things life will be grand...right?!
Enjoying the journey is the best anyway:)

Here are a few random pictures from the first week of the new year!

Tired little peanut

Some of Lexi's jammies have monkey toes...she found them and wanted to eat them :)
It was hilarious watching her try to reach them...silly little girl!
She would seriously bend completely in half to reach them, I wish I could do that!

Relaxing day with mom and dad

Nothing is better than these two...
I love them more than anything! Giving daddy big kisses.

My little monkey :)

These two love to snuggle and fall asleep together.

Having a little girl is so much fun!
I was such a doll lover when I was younger and I think she is as well.
She got a few little baby dolls for Christmas and plays with them constantly.
We have a little girly girl...

Giving her baby kisses

Alexis has a long patch of hair right on top of her head! It keeps growing right along :)
It curls right up when I put water on it. I think it's pretty darn cute.
Silly little bug :)

Alexis had her 6 month shots :( and it broke my heart...it never seems to get easier.
She has always had a hard time with her immunizations but this time seemed worse than all the others.
Her little legs get big knots in them and turn red and warm to the touch :(
The night after the shots she had a 101 degree fever and was up the whole night.
It was so hard to watch her be so uncomfortable.
Nothing is worse than seeing your little one sick.
She cried and cried and wanted to be held the whole night.
We finally got tylenol in her and she fell asleep around 7 in the morning....

After a few naps, a few baths.... and a few more doses of tylenol she started to
return to her normal happy self. I am so glad!

We took these silly pics the next day :) so glad to have my happy baby back!

Happy January everyone :)
Lets hope this year is the best one yet!
Love, Me!
