Goodbye 2011...WELCOME 2012!
Happy NEW YEAR everyone!
We are excited about the new year.
We are ready to start fresh and accomplish some major goals...and this year we are going to stick to it ;)
We are going to be healthier, happier and better people!
Enjoying life more and spending more time together as a family is our number one goal :)
We have some fun family plans this coming year and we are excited to see what life has in store!
...taking a little vacation is hopefully on the list!
Of course Nate and I both want to get healthier and more in shape...so we started the morning off with running a mile :) I told myself I will run 2 more before my head hits my pillow tonight!
We are being a little ambitious on goal setting... but Nate and I are planning on doing our very first half marathon this coming June. We are starting the training process and hopefully we can work our way up within the next six months...wish us luck!
Staying motivated seems to be the hardest challenge, but we are feeling good and ready to work hard!
We started a New Year's tradition with my mom's side of the family a few years back.
We go tubing at Soldier Hollow and then have a party at my aunt Lana's house.
I was excited to participate in the tubing this year (last year I couldn't because I was pregnant)
Nate and I decided to hang on to each others tubes while going down on our stomach...
haha we ended up flying down backwards the whole way and catching some air over the jumps.
We haven't laughed that hard in a LONG time, it was great fun!
Tubing at Soldier Hollow :)
THANK YOU Kristin who held Alexis the whole time while we went tubing. We really appreciate it!
After tubing we hit up the Dairy Keen in Heber for some lunch :) Then on to my aunt's house for a big celebration! We played TONZ of games...ate WAY too much and celebrated until midnight!
Alexis did surprisingly well. She stayed happy and content most of the night. Cousin Jaxson and all of her aunts and uncles loved on her constantly :) I think she got a few thousand kisses.
She is so sweet. We will keep her :)
Happy New Year!
This is one of my favorite pictures :)
It is a rare occasion to have my dad smile for a picture so I feel very lucky haha
The party was great. We got to visit, play games and hang out with family.
I love family parties!
We are ready for 2012 :)
January is a BIG month for us! Nate is accomplishing A LOT for medical school!
Nate is still working hard at filling out secondary applications, writing essays, taking the MCAT, and working his little tale off trying to get into medical school. He has been polishing up those applications the best he can... so now we are waiting to see what happens :)
He is working SO HARD for our little family and I have all the faith in him that he will get in!
We are looking forward to where this little journey takes us.
Our main goal is to stay positive and do the best we can in all area's.
If we continue to do those two things life will be grand...right?!
Enjoying the journey is the best anyway:)
Here are a few random pictures from the first week of the new year!
Tired little peanut
Some of Lexi's jammies have monkey toes...she found them and wanted to eat them :)
It was hilarious watching her try to reach them...silly little girl!
She would seriously bend completely in half to reach them, I wish I could do that!
Relaxing day with mom and dad
Nothing is better than these two...
I love them more than anything! Giving daddy big kisses.
My little monkey :)
These two love to snuggle and fall asleep together.
Having a little girl is so much fun!
I was such a doll lover when I was younger and I think she is as well.
She got a few little baby dolls for Christmas and plays with them constantly.
We have a little girly girl...
Giving her baby kisses
Alexis has a long patch of hair right on top of her head! It keeps growing right along :)
It curls right up when I put water on it. I think it's pretty darn cute.
Silly little bug :)
Alexis had her 6 month shots :( and it broke my heart...it never seems to get easier.
She has always had a hard time with her immunizations but this time seemed worse than all the others.
Her little legs get big knots in them and turn red and warm to the touch :(
The night after the shots she had a 101 degree fever and was up the whole night.
It was so hard to watch her be so uncomfortable.
Nothing is worse than seeing your little one sick.
She cried and cried and wanted to be held the whole night.
We finally got tylenol in her and she fell asleep around 7 in the morning....
After a few naps, a few baths.... and a few more doses of tylenol she started to
return to her normal happy self. I am so glad!
We took these silly pics the next day :) so glad to have my happy baby back!
Happy January everyone :)
Lets hope this year is the best one yet!
Love, Me!
